So I was gonna come on here and
write a whole entry about probably something
deep like I normally do lol.
But today I started writing lyrics to
a new song that just started hitting me
I don’t think I’m quite ready to talk about
the meaning behind this one yet
especially since I’m still working with it.
I kinda cringe at the thought of posting lyrics
too soon for people to read because
it’s SO far from being anywhere near
what I’m feeling for it
but I told myself I wanted to be
as real as possible in these
Studio Journal entries so here goes:
Once upon a past life
I see a woman in a not so distant time
Never gave a moment to believe that I was someone
Worth a minute of pure sunshine
So I took a walk to find a piece of mind
Never thought I’d leave behind
All the love that I was so surrounded by
Flash before the eyes in headlights
Rewind a littler further
See a her falling in the gutter
To a visit unidentified
Lying on a table
With the visitor
Unable to remember those starlit eyes
Still I feel the words inside of me alive:
“Everything will be alright”
All the love that I was so surrounded by
Flash before the eyes in skylight
(Bridge section lyrics not written yet)
There you are in front of me
Epitome of love in life
Each of you on every side
Finding three is hard to find
And in my bed above my head
A ray of light will pull me in
And I cannot decide to live or die
Without a chance to cry
My heart is all I have to give
‘Cause I don’t wanna leave you here
And have another try to find
The reason that I came here
Alright so there’s still a bridge section needed
And I’m unsure where that
ending verse and chorus is going
But basic concept is there
Kind of telling a story which
I’m not really big on doing that in songs
But nevertheless the words and lyrics hit me today
so I just rolled with it haha.
We’ll see if it turns into anything for the new album.
Sometimes a new song or two will sneak in
right at the last minute
when an album is almost complete
So maybe this will be one of those.
All in all, it just felt good today
to get those words and accompanying melodies out.
If it turns into a song I’ll definitely
go into the meaning in more detail
in an upcoming Studio Journal entry.
