We just had our guitarist
James Tanner drive out all the way
from Los Angeles out to our place
this weekend in Phoenix AZ
(about a 7 hour drive for him)
to come practice with us for our
first full band rehearsal for our
upcoming album release show 🤘🏻
which is in ONE MONTH from now!
So many nerves and excitement
boiling up at the same time!
We also have what I consider to be
a fifth band member join us
Matt Anderson, our sound guy
who is helping us with figuring out
how to play our songs with
backing tracks on stage
which is its own instrument in itself.
Anyway all five of us got together
today and ran thru everything
a couple times. About an hour set.
We have a LOT to work on
but it IS coming together.
It’s interesting though because
originally for this show I only
wanted to sing, without playing
any instruments especially since
it has been so long since
performing on guitar on stage.
As a studio musician you get used to
pressing STOP whenever you mess up
but LIVE of course that’s not possible.
Well, when James offered to play
guitar I realized there are so many
more guitar parts that need to be
played with his so i thought,
“Fine, I’ll just play the rhythm guitar”
(which is easier to sing and play
at the same time as opposed to
the lead guitar) BUT after running
thru things with James we both
realized that a months time is
not enough time for James to learn
all the guitar solos (lead guitar parts)
SO I went from only wanting to sing to
now also playing lead guitar
at this show which TERRIFIES me
but I know these songs like the back
of my hand so I’m more likely to
be able to learn these lead parts
quicker and easier than James so
STAY TUNED for how that will go!
