Glorified

LYRICS

(still very rough):

Never had luck gave it up for the long fight

Every night in my sight gave it all my hang tight

Seen enough of the same with a no-name

Givin’ all I had for my __ __ new fame

Movin’ from the shallow to the deep

Bring it from the frozen to the heat

‘Cause I can take a knock on the chin from the best’a them

Never give a reason to be innocent

‘Cause I’m a

Live or die, fight or flight

Takin out the clock with a one shot called it

Prophesied, gratify

Gonna take it to the top

Gotta live it up glorified

Never give a reason to be broken

Never fight the feeling at the rate you’re falling

Never find the meaning, only seen it

Never cross my path again _ _ got it?

Movin’ from the shallow to the deep

Bring it thru the frozen to the heat

‘Cause I can crack a whip from the hip, leave the enemy

Wishing they had never seen the best of me

‘Cause I’m a

Live or die, fight or flight

Takin out the clock with a one shot called it

Prophesied, gratify

Gonna take it to the top

Gotta live it up glorified

SONG LORE

Writing Process

As I explained in the livestream re-post above, this song instrumentally began as a track for a TV show pitch. I don’t even remember at this point what the pitch was for, but I later came up with the chorus melody vocal idea for it followed by the verses. The 2nd verse I’d like to be female vocals sung by Sarah, and then harmonizing from the 2nd chorus onward. The bridge tbd.

Song Meaning

The meaning is still being discovered on this one (haha). When songs are this early in the process, sometimes the theme or meaning hasn’t been quite nailed down yet. Overall I’d like this to be an empowerment song, rising up from the ashes to a new “glory”.

I’m not hip on the 2nd verse lyrics. What’s there currently are just placeholder words which usually happens early on in the writing process. I also want to note that I don’t like how it talks about “the enemy” as I personally believe that it’s important to make peace with everyone, including those who might initially be perceived as enemies so I definitely have some reworking of the lyrics right there especially. Stay tuned as Sarah and I will continue to carve this one out!
