December 21, 2023
It’s been an interesting week.
Been in one of those moods where
there is a lot of emotion
at the surface
but there is no telling
what it’s from
or what it’s about.
All I can do is acknowledge
that it’s there
and embrace it for any lessons
it might be trying to teach me.
Today I had a wonderful opportunity
to have lunch with an old bandmate
from back in high school.
The band was called The Usuals.
He and his friends in the band
were high school seniors,
and I was a young sophomore.
They accepted me and
welcomed me into their band
and were so open minded about
what I had to offer musically.
I still scratch my head about that!
The respect that I had
for them though
as musicians was so deep.
I brought some of my
songs to the group
and we worked on some
new ones together.
I’ve never quite had
an experience
working with guys
like them before.
I miss those times greatly.
One of the things
we discussed today
was what it might look like if
we started collaborating
together again. This time for
Fenwick & the Futures,
especially as F&TF
continues to grow
and is now looking to take
the next steps of
performing shows live.
I’m very much looking forward
to this potential opportunity.
We are look at getting together
the week after Christmas
for a creative writing session,
trying to figure out
what additional songs this
upcoming album
is calling us to put on it.
Stay tuned for that!
In the meantime,
I hope you,
wherever you are reading this,
have a blissful holiday season
in spite of all the turmoil
happening all over right now.
Know that you are loved,
and you are a FUTURE.
Thanks for being you….
Much Love,
/n8
